Hi

I was looking for an Apo-Summicron-M 1:2/75mm ASPH. to complement my Summicron 35mm ASPH. I noticed that the 75mm is priced US$2995 and the 35mm at US$2595. If memory serves me right they were US$2795 and US$2395, respectively at Jan 1st (B&H)...

Best regards

Yes I think so too, I am planning to go on the exact same set of lenses (already have the 35). The new 75 apo cron I've never seen pop up second hand... guess it's too new, and its buyers are satisfied. Although the latter is a good thing, I am not sure if I can handle the $3k price tag. Well, maybe it's a good time to sell off my canon gear.

Leica's recent price increases sadly reflect the further weakening of the dollar vs. the euro. There's never been a better time to be patient with the used market for buying gear.

Very true. Take 4000 euros. Dollar at peak: under $3600. Dollar at recent nadir: about $5800.

My wife's US pension is calculated in US $ and paid in euros...

Cheers,

R.

Yes, good reasoning. I will watch it closely! Thanks for the tip.

The problem is that as you state owners are satisfied. I bought mine new around this time last year and I paid $2200 for it from Tony Rose. His current price for the lens is $2995 also but he is out of stock. It's a tremendous lens so the used market for it is almost non-existent. The link below is for one that's on sale at the German LUF site. Good luck!! 🙂
