35mm focal length

Does such a thing exist? : A compact body (35mm format) with a 35mm fixed focal length lens.

Yep. It's called the Olympus XA. Tons of info about this little camera here and elsewhere on the net. Very highly regarded by most, including me. Google it.

One caveat- they made several versions. I'd stick with the original XA, and ignore the XA2, 3, 4, etc.

XA: Oh Boy, I didn't even think of that one. I was thinking of a little larger body, with a larger VF, as I wear glasses. Thanks for your input.

well, then if it could be another focal length, there are a raft of old metal compact cameras.
i still have my original oly 35rc with a great 42mm lens...

Yaschica T4 Super = T5, has a sweet little Ziess 35. As do various versions of the Rollei 35.

Nikon L35AF. Great 35mm lens with very little distortion. Fast Af because it uses zone focus and it rewinds film with the film leader left out. It also takes filters, its ISO ranges is up to 1000 (some are 400 but those are the older model). http://www.nicovandijk.net/compact.htm
