35mm Summicron 6-element early or late one?

I also find the Summicron 35/2 Type 1 (8 elements) satisfactory. Contrast is fine and acceptable even wide open.

I have read that it is the sharpest, but from the type 2 to the 35/2 ASPH is higher contrast. Only wide open mind you. On film, they are all very similar. The only advantage for the 35/2 ASPH is improved corner sharpness. I would love to have ANY 35mm Summicron, on film they are all fantastic.

back to the question, anyone agreed that 6-element actually has better wide open performance than 7-element? from the pics i have seen on the internet, i think 6 performs better than 7. i have owned a 7 and sold it because i think it is too soft and lack of details in the shadow. and from all the pics of 6 i have seen on the internet, i find 6-element has more 3D effect than 7-element and maybe sharper in the centre as well.
That's only what i have seen, may not be right.
