If you like to do nice pictures it is not the problem of the "right" lens..the Summicron is nice and all the fine lenses out there..the problem is your mind and "feeling" and for this... only you have the answer...

Since this thread is under the M8 forum, is it necessary to code 35mm lenses?

First determine which lens signature you prefer; vist the flickr M-mount group as another suggested. I do prefer the signature of the ZM 35/2 over the L alternatives, particularly in traditional B+W. Once I had determined that fact, I saved up and bought the ZM 35. In 50s, it was not as easy, for I had to save a lot more to get my L preference obtained in that focal length
