35mm summilux -- but sell my Canon 50mm 0.95?

I don't know guys, but is it possible for the novelty of the Canon dream lens to eventually wear off?

It took a while for me to find a pristine dream lens, then the patience to have DAG do the overhaul and M mount modification, and then a while of just playing with it to enjoy it. But when I travel, it stays home, and lately it's just been gathering dust on the shelf.

Am I going to be sorry to let it go just so I can rationalize a 35mm 1.4 summilux purchase???

Really think you need both... with the shallow DOF.

Use them on a digital EVF camera and you will be shocked at how nice the 0.95 renders...

I have a kit of fast Canon FD lenses and a Canon FD tilt-shift lens, they allow me to shoot different focal lengths with a consistent look.

If you're not using it, sell it. You should be able to get a premium for it because of the DAG work, especially if u show the work order/receipt.
This lens really seems like a one trick pony, and on top of that it's a pony you don't take out! The Lux 35 would be far more versatile and you'd have it w u.

thanks guys, it really quite a decision. just like you're alluding to, there aren't a whole heck a lot of Canon 50mm/0.95 that were modified by DAG. Oh, the decisions...

When i have to ask, it means I really don't want to sell it. And If I sell it, I'm usually sorry. My feeling about it is, if you have to ask, keep it. Find another way to get the 35/1.4.

It's rational to think if you don't use it, sell it. But it seems to me you will certainly regret it later. So keep it, and try to use it more often.

You can buy a cheap Nokton 35mm f1.4 and have less buyer's remorse.

There is a vintage Canon 35mm f1.5, too, but I don't know its market price at the moment.

I would say keep the Canon 0.95. It’s an unique lens. I have both Canon 0.95 and Leica 35 1.4 asph. I will never sell them because they can’t be replaced.
