For comparison purposes (and for relaxation) I went back to the location where I can see pelicans and other birds in Pensacola. This time, I used the M8 with the pre-asph Summilux 35/1.4.

I often set the camera to ISO=160 and the lens aperture to F 8 when I have sunny weather here in Florida, which is about 300 days each year.

This is outside Joe Patti's Seafood. I often then go inside, and get some Gelato.

Nice pics Raid, but I’m more amazed on how warm it looks. Cold, cold, cold in northern Michigan, with more snow in the forecast tonight and tomorrow. Your pics give me something to look forward to.

There is a good reason why Florida is known as The Sunshine State, Jim. No cold ^%$#@ anymore for me.
We had highs in the range F75-F80 the past few days. Weather fit for wearing a t shirt.

Lovely, Raid!

Thanks for inspiring me as we are under rainy conditions and more tomorrow. No t-shirts here. 43F....yikes.

Nice series, specially Nr. 6. Did you crop (if yes, how much) or went close?

Thanks, Kaniel.
I did not do any cropping at all in this series. I inched up to the birds, and then I set the focus to a few yards, waiting for a bird to lift off so that I can catch it "on sensor".

What a nice part of the world Raid ... and beautifully photographed as usual. The Lux and the old M8 are a nice combo. :)

Thank you Keith. The M8 is my "action camera", compared with my M9 which is my "static camera" so to speak. The Lux is a very beautiful lens in many ways. It is very difficult for me to dislike it. The color rendering with the M8 or the M9 is absolutely gorgeous. It focuses like a well lubed machine. The sensor of the M8 and that of the M9 is very very special.

I just love pics from vintage cameras ... lol :D

I can only imagine what 75 degree weather feels like. Probably in May is when we’ll see our first 70’s of the year.

But I choose to live here, so I won’t complain. But note the name of my fancy-schmancy webpage (snow country photography). I call it that for a reason!

Each place has its charm. I used to live in SouthWest Virginia where we had lots of snow each winter.

Speaking of temperatures we are having our first couple of days below 86 degF in about a month and a half. I don't remember a hotter Brisbane summer!

Wow, Keith... Hopefully things will cool off soon. Yesterday, actually, the last six months, was weird. Very warm weather has prevailed this winter and yesterday, the hearth was aglow until late last night with a warm fire, glowing embers and the smell of kiln-dried wood. We expect more of the same all week with the temps dropping below freezing.

Cozy, but weird!:p

I am going to look up Raid real soon in the balmy weather he is enjoying. Maybe he will let me shoot a couple of frames with the 35!
