35mm Summilux PreASPH Photos: right here !

Hi guys,
i did a shooting session with a friend and i used the 35mm Summilux preasph. Imho, it's the best lens leica has ever made ( i don't use my 35 ASPH and summicron iv anymore ! ) the only defect is the lens flare...

Wow, gorgeous photos.
I can see why a lot of people want this lens.
it has a lovely unique signature.

Oh, I see, I hadn't noticed if it was PS'ed or not...
 
the first is BEST

flare adds extra charm.

Looks like I'm gonna keep preasph for film using. I have not tried this with film yet and I see that this seems to work much better on films than rd1. I get a lot crazy flare and coma when I point against street lights at the widest aperture. It can happen that sensor reflects some rays back, who knows 😀

Which aperture are shoots taken at?
 
Nice photos, the first two are wonderful.

I have a 35mm Pre, but have been interested in purchasing a used Asph Summi. I am curious why you prefer the Non-Asph. to the Asph summilux?

The one thing that I do not like about the Pre is that the closest I can focus is 1m, where as the Asph can focus at 0.7m, which does make a difference for me.

However, I have had wonderful results with the pre.

Curious to what others think.
 
All shots were shot at 1.4. There is a natural glow with the preasph summilux that you won't have with the ASPH. To answer your question, i did some dodging with PS on the first pic.
The ASPH is too modern for my taste, it's really good in sharpness, but i prefer the tones and the bokeh of the preasph , plus you have the "glow" at 1.4

I hope my soon-to-come-back-from-DAG canon 35mm f1.5 will be my poor man summilux...
I can't wait to try it.
 
I really love #1 and #2, nice subject and expressions. For night B/W they have a vibrance I wouldn;t expect.

How much did you pay for the lens?

Sam - Like I stated before, the images are fantastic but the PS dodging takes away from them... One suggestion is to try using a tablet (I'm assuming you used a mouse) which will give you better control with the dodging.

Thanks for sharing, now I need to get my hands on a pre ASPH 35 lux.

I paid 930 euros for this lens, i really enjoy 35mm focal length, and imho it's the best 35mm you'll find on the market.
Thanks Riccis for your advice, i must admit that it's my first experience with dodging. The best for me would be to have a darkroom and learn to print my pics, but it's not possible for now. If you have some tips/settings to do some dodging with PS, i would really appreciate
