Admittedly I really enjoyed the rendering of the Pre-ASPH Summilux but I was hasty and I sold it. I wasn’t a big fan of the aperture ring, nor the 1m MFD (though honestly both are minor complaints). I was feeling funny about 35mm in general at the time as a focal length and I let it go.
I’m trying the Zeiss Distagon 35 presently which is arguably “easier” to use and has phenomenal detail, but it kind of lacks that something special the Pre-ASPH Lux has. No wonder they’re getting so popular again!

Hi Abram,
I recently bought a Zeiss 35/2 which has great coatings and is resistant to flare, but I still like using my pre-asph Summilux more often.
