I'm just getting back into film. I'll eventually develop my own, but what are the decent mail-in developers out there? I'd like development and film to scan at decent quality/resolution.

I would avoid TheDarkroom, I've had terrible experiences with them, and known others who have had the same. Also expensive.

Excellent results from:

northcoastphoto.com
thefindlab.com
dwaynesphoto.com

You can develop B&W on your own using the Cinestill DF96 Monobath - it is one solution (reusable 16+ times) for everything and super easy to use. There is a thread on it.

I used Dwayne's for both B&W and Color before starting to develop my own B&W. They are just fine. And they are cheaper than most other options.

I have been using ThaDarkroom and am happy with the results. Looking at Dwaynes- it is $5/roll cheaper for dev + high res scans, so I may consider trying them. TheDarkroom's high res scan is higher (maybe 20-25%), but Dwayne's is high enough.

I've had great luck with The FIND Lab, Photovision, and Goodman Film lab. I've used both Richard Photo Lab and Pro Photo Connection for develop only with good results. I sent one roll to North Coast Photographic Services but didn't get great results. One frame had a hair on it and there were development streaks across the entire roll so I can't recommend them. I've been using Goodman Film Lab lately and I like their results the best out of all of the labs I have tired. Fair prices too.
