Here is a babelfish translation:
How good is the Voigtländer 35mm/1.4 lens? is it sharp? how is the contrast? I would like to have a lens that is as sharp as the CV Nokton 40/1.4 or a Leica Summicron V3 35/2.0. I would like to know if this lens is more or less good above the 2.0 f-stop. May be I should consider two lenses: one which I will shoot only at 1.4 and another which I will use at smaller apertures. I use tri-x at 200, 400, 1200. For developing I use d76 1/1, 1200 ar fine .Iprint 16x20 on paper.i print full tone . I use Leica M5 and Voigtländer R4m .

MC versionen are lite "hardare" i kontrast an SC, men inte tillrackligt for att gora nagon skillnad. Om du skjute i lagt ljus - SC ger dig lite mera detaljer i skugg partiet av bilden.

A Møøse once bit my sister ...
No realli! She was Karving her initials on the møøse
with the sharpened end of an interspace tøøthbrush given
her by Svenge - her brother-in-law - an Oslo dentist and

Hehe -- classic.

But was it sharp at f1.4?

jerkman, you probably ahve found some renegade swede in St.Paul to translate my write-up of the 35f1.4 (dont know how well you did with Jon's kanji though).
The 35f1.4 is a very good lens. Similar to the pre-asph Summilux, slightly soft at f1.4, but usable even there. Once you stop it down beyond f2.0 - you will not see that much difference between the Summicron 35 IV and the Nokton 35f1.4. For the rest of the apertures - they are equal. At f16 you start seeing diffraction and a bit of vignetting (but so do you on the Summicron!).
Mine are SC versions as they are dedicated for black/white and you fo get a bit better shadow detail with the SC's versus the MC's. Not enough to fret about it, but you will notice it if you do "wet" darkroom printing.
It has become my preferred 35 of lately and usually resides on a M2 as my prime camera/lens combo. So far I have not shot anything that could be constituted as "lens failing to perform" and the bad shots are mine entirely and cant be blamed on the lens!
AS usual, go to Flickr and tag "Voigtlander Nokton 35mm f1.4 SC" or "MC" and look at whats there. I will give you a good idea what it can and cant do.

35mm1.4 how good at 11,8,56,4 28 ,2
frankly, I think 11,8,56,4 28 ,2 is a very odd aperture number.
