Hi all,

Hoping someone can help. I just got my hands on a nice Olympus 35rc, shot a test roll of film which came out great. I then managed to stuff it up by playing with the self timer lever, which I've since read is often a problem; the shutter release & advance lever were stuck.
I think I've got it working again thanks to this blog, http://www3.telus.net/public/rpnchbck/Oly_RC.html but in taking it apart a tiny part fell out and I have no idea were it came from. Please see image in link, it's approx 6mm long. http://imgur.com/BVJYBDk I'd got to 18th photo down in the instructions in the blog if that helps see what I've unscrewed. It appears to be working fine now but obviously worried about this missing piece.
Can anyone help with what this part is and where it should go? And if I should by searching the floor for any bits that have fallen off with it? Would appreciate any advice! Many thanks

I don't recall seeing that part when I worked on mine. It looks like something that either is a blocking device, or a pusher of some sort. It's got a really nice wear mark on it, so that is one clue as to it's function and placement.

Hi,

I repaired mine a while back and took photos of each step. The second photo shows that part. Hope this helps.

Wildsheep - you found where the small brass part needs to be installed for Will - but I'm curious as what it does.

I see in the photos where it goes - my guess - it is one of the parts of the shutter speed dial.

Best Regards,

Might be a guard to keep that wire below it from fouling, and also acts as a mount spacer for the swing arm it sits under.
