4/25 Nippon Kpgaku

Looks like a good price. The LTM versions don't come up for auction much, so a little harder to fix their average prices.

The finder was sold separately for $320. And this is without the hood and retaining ring for the Series 6 filter.

Assuming it was mint, I'd rather pay the $320 than the $150 for the cracked one that sold on the Yahoo Japan auctions earlier tonight. Really surprised me that someone would pay so much for a cracked finder ...

nikkor 2.5cm

nikkor 2.5cm

one was sold on ebay several weeks ago lens adapter and finder no caps no case for $1099 , still a complete outfit for leica m you see sellers asking $2000 for these and they do not sell . the filter ring / shade is difficult to find , i have only ever seen one . it takes a 34.5mm filter and a leica front cap for elmar screwmount will fit . the rear cap is special deep type . when it went to $850 for the lens only i lost interest . i think 900 were made in leica screwmount , however i am not sure my memory is correct on this .

If it's for a collection, feel free to bid as much as you want. But if it's for actual use, well... I had one of these for my Nikon S3, and while I took a lot of good photos with it, I have to say that by today's standards it's not a terribly good lens. Sharpness is just OK, and the edge fall-off is horrible. I would think that a 25mm Voigtlander Skopar would be a much better choice as a user. Remember that the 25mm Nikkor is essentially a copy of the 1938 Zeiss Topogon, a lens that Zeiss did not really promote very much and stopped making after the war.

Nice Stephen. Show us what it can do ;)

Kevin Li has some of these lenses and even has some hoods. Too much for me though. The little LTM nikkors are fun though.

Just checked--page 22 Non Leica SM Whole kit $3095.

There are some shots with the Nikkor 25f4 on our Flickr site. Use the tag "Nikkor 25mm f4.0" and they should pop up. I have one now, chrome and with the correct hood. Not a bad lens and very distinct signature (edge fall off and some flare) but quite sharp. Very strange aperture control! The S version of the VC 25f4 is much better as a "user" lens though.
Just checked, there are 90 shots with the 25f4 Nikkor on our Flickr.

Thank you Tom. The "Some do and some don't!" pic made me smile. Mr B on the table too. Looks like a nice sharp lens.

It's because Kevincameras buys them off ebay(like the rest of us) for a grand and then adds a finder and sells them for 3 grand...

I thought this one did OK at a grand.

Looks like the lens and finder are back up for auction. Wonder what the issue was with the buyer? Correct spelling this time, but missing LTM and Rangefinder in the subject line.
