Sorry if this has been discussed before, but I didn't find it in a search.

I just received a 4/3 to m4/3 adapter. It is a recommended third party adapter. When the body is powered up there is a message saying I should check that the lens is mounted correctly.

Is there something I'm missing like firmware upgrade? I just went to version 1.1 on the Panasonic GF2. Also the lenses I have are Olympus 4/3.

Thanks for any help.

Unless that third party adapter has electronic contacts that will mate between the camera body and the 43 lenses.. It sounds like during power up, the 43 lens was not detected and the info exchange about the 43 lens specific info did not happen.

W/o this feature, I would suspect that u need to using it in "shoot w/o lens mounted" mode.

ouch, I was just thinking of buying one of these adapters also. Could you post what "brand" you bought?

Opps. I forgot to mention, if it has the contacts, then check that it is mating correctly, anything like oil on the contacts..etc.

Thanks for the replies. I think it was a contacts problem. Seems there is a tiny bit of play where the lens mates with the adapter. It is working now.

I appreciate the help.
