4 New Voigtlander Lenses 35/1.7 Ultron, 15/4.5 Heliar, 40/2.8 Heliar, 10.5/.95 Nokton

Good news for photographers who need yet another 35mm lens. The previous version 35/1.7 seems to be an excellent lens at an affordable cost. Other 35mm lens of this caliber may cost two to three times as much. Too bad that I have way too many 35mm lenses that are awesome.

I always liked the Ultron...this one will be 0.5 min focus, YAY
the ultron, the new 35 summarit, and the 35 1.4 Zeiss look yummy Good.... Hmmmm, me thinks Me Wants all of them

Now we must hound Tom A. who probably assisted in getting this Voit. out into the World ;)

that 1.7 ultron is very interesting indeed, it is however bigger than the IV cron or Color-Skopar.

hopefully though this means drop in used price for the Nokton 1.4

It also went up considerably in filter size, 43 over 39 for the LTM one.

However, there are not many options for that performance. It will be a great match to the new Nokton.

Is this new 35 the same optical formula as the LTM version? I have one of these, and love it. I presume it is different though, as it is so much bigger.

Cheers,
Dez

4 New Voigtlander Lenses for Photokina 2014

4 New Voigtlander Lenses for Photokina 2014

Voigtlander has just introduced four new lenses at Photokina 2014l.

35/1.7 Leica M Mount Aspheric, new sharper computation of the 35/1.7 with great bokeh and in the classic retro chrome brass or black lens barrels like the 50/1.5 Aspheric, 9 elements 7 groups 297 gram chr, 226 gram black. This lens was asked for by many customers who wanted a fast sharp 35mm, but smaller than the super fast 35/1.2. http://voigtlaender.com/35-mm-f-1,7-ultron.html

15/4.5 III Leica M Aspheric New improved optical design for digital M cameras, gives great results on film too! 13 elements 10 groups 586 grams, giving higher performance and improved color. http://voigtlaender.de/15-mm--f-4,...dell-2014.html

40/2.8 Heliar 5 elements 3 groups, lens head to be used with VM NEX Close up adapter. SUPER COMPACT, classic retro nickel construction, probably the smallest normal available for NEX cameras. 132 gram For ALL Nex cameras, full frame or APS-C http://voigtlaender.de/40-mm-f-2,8-heliar.html

10.5/.95 Nokton M43 lens 13 elements, 10 groups 586 gram - this is the 4th and widest of Voigtlander's fast .95 M43 lenses. Equivalent of 21mm on full frame 35.

For pics of all except the 15mm, go to http://voigtlaender.com/index.html and then click the NEW VM and MFT lenses link on the right bottom of the Photokina pic.

All of these were needed and will occupy special places in the Voigtlander lens lineup. I think all of these will be very popular.

The 40/2.8 will be the first of these 4 to be on dealer's shelves.

It's Back! Great news :)

This focus ring style is apparently here to stay for CV lenses.
I did not like it on the 50mm M nokton and went back to an LTM version of that lens :(
Wonder if it feels any nicer on a smaller overall diameter 35mm Ultron?

The older Ultron was 8 elements, this is 9 elements.
New design probably.

I think it is really the same formula. Length shows to be around 5cm, not far off the originnal's 4.5cm (I think).

It won't be as small as a MkIV Summicron but then again it is faster.
