There were posts earlier today that there weren't too many of these lenses available right now. I just found one ending today over at the bay.

Yes, just under 6 hours to go... And it even includes the original rubber lens shade, as well as both caps. Looks very good. $200 now and the reserve has been met!

Hmm, my local store has a 40/2 Rokkor for 280 €, seems one of their 'reasonable' prices.
Maybe I could pay them a visit and swap my Minolta SLR stuff for that lens...

Wow! Your dealer will charge the equivalent of $360 USD. With VAT, the buyer will pay over $400. With shipping, this ebay buyer will only pay a little over $300. You can get some real buys on ebay!

Huck VAT is included
6 months warranty as well, hand inspection in place, no shipping, etc.
However, it would be only a nice deal if the store accepts some kind of swap, but knowing them I seriously doubt that. They have 'the pan by the handle'.
Btw Gene, you aren't helping, you know ?

Actually, Taffer I might take your dealer's offer in that case. After shipping is included to the ebay purchase, the difference is probably only $40. To be able to inspect the lens in advance & then have 6 months protection vs buying sight unseen from ebay with only a 7 day return period (less shipping & ebay fees). . . Could well be worth the extra $40. Thanks for adding the explanation.

I have sold quite a lot of stuff lately Oscar and have replaced it with things I will use. Post your Minolta stuff at Photo.net and use the proceeds to fund the 40mm lens. I am sure someone will snap it up.
