40mm - the sensible all-rounder?

I definitely need one in 'M' mount now! looks like the 'piggy bank' will be raided again!

Dave: Those are wonderful! Too bad Konica never made this lens in M Mount. I guess I'll just use it on my T4 and ignore the shutter noise ... pretend it's an M.

Thanks, that lens came with the FT1 Konica - for £40! ...I think I'll need a little more for an equivalent in M mount!

I started using the fixed 40/1.7 on my Canonet QL17GIII some years ago, then got a nikon zoom, and now used fixed lenses on my M6 and RD1s. I thought the 35mm lens I bought would be the sensible all-rounder, but surprisinly found it was too wide (I've historyically liked wider lenses).
Im now very happy with the Cron 40/2 I picked up from enochroot in the classifieds here recently (thanks Ryan) and am very happy getting back to the 40mm that seems as natural as it was on the Canonet. I'll get some fotos together soon.........
