I have two LTM lenses that take 43mm filters. One is the Nikkor f1.4 with finer threads and the other is the Yashinon f1.8 with coarser threads. Both are f.l.=5cm. In trying numerous filters, I have found that modern 43mm filters by Vivitar, Soligor, Kalimar, and Hoya will fit both lenses; however, older chrome rim filters by Kenko and Walz have fine threads and will only screw a quarter turn into the course threaded lens. Not secure at all. Therefore, these older chrome rim filters should only be bought for lenses with fine threads. I think the fine threads are .5mm pitch and the coarse ones are .75mm pitch but have not verified this.

The Nikkor lenses do take a 0.5mm pitch, and I think the older 50mm Summilux is the same. Most other manufacturers' lenses seem to take the 0.75mm pitch. When buying filters, you need to check which you need.

Cheers,
Dez

B+W 43mm filters are 0.5 pitch

B+W 43mm filters are 0.5 pitch

In my experience with 43mm filters,
B+W have the 0.5 mm thread pitch, and
Hoya makes them in 0.75 mm thread pitch.
They are incompatible.

You need to get the one that fits your lens.
For the vintage Nikkors, the B+W is the right one.

The newer lenses with the 43mm filter size such as the Zeiss ZM have 0.75 pitch. I laugh because Ken Rockwell recommends the B+W filters to go with these lenses, and I feel that it won't work.
Almost all of the 43mm filters made now are of 0.75 pitch except for B+W.

P.S. B+W also make a fine 40mm size filter, which works great for the 50mm f/2 HC Nikkor that Dez sold me. Thanks DEZ!

I have an original Leica 43 UV that came off of my Summilux 50 that won't fit on my zeiss 35. Just ordered a B+W UV so from the above this probably wont fit either!

the older Japanese filters /kenko/nikkor/walz always fit well .
Canon rangefinder filters don't fit nikkors
With modern filters I have had the opposite luck ,
Modern Hoya filters work well with all my rf nikkors in 43mm
The b&w ones will only screw on one turn then jamb .

Update
I just tried Hoya and b&w filters on 5 nikkors in rf mount
The modern Hoya fit on all 5 lenses
The b&w filters are pro-f black ring type
Of the 2 b&w filters --- one fit on 3 out of five lenses
One fit only 1 out of five lenses
