Make that 4+, because the Bessa L (w/Voightlander 21/4) doesn't count. I started with "opportunity buys," or fairly-priced entry level fixed lenses. That produced a Yashica GSN and Canonet QL III 17. Replaced the Canonet seals (gummy mess that couldn't wait) and got decent shots. Yashica could use seals, but no ill-light effects, so that's some deferred maintenance. Also decent shots. It's been mostly about knocking off different speed films, b and w, and getting used to focusing and so forth. I'm also hedging on shot quality because immediately after I installed my scanner, my hard drive failed. So now it's a matter of waiting for a new CPU.

I was out today and shot my 1st roll on the Bessa. What a sweet little combo of lens and "box." I can already see the absolute need :) of a 90 angle finder. Anybody have experience with one?

In the mail is the result of a complex, weeks-long cross-country negotiation (finally settled on sending the $15 + ship in greenbacks via US mail) for a Yashica Lynx. If this is a usable or redeemable camera, I'm thinking it's a nice fast companion to the Bessa slow wide.

Ah, but last, there's the buy that has vaulted me into the ranks of "collector" ---- isn't that what you call a a person who buys a camera he could never imagine actually using? It's a Fujica Half. Hit me in the gut when I saw it. The first camera purchase I ever made. My first roll was mostly of Lyndon Johnson in the Rose Garden, 1964.

Reports to follow
Thanks for listening.

Ah, so you bought a Fujica Half. Why would any one do that?

Why? Because (the first time) I was 21, knew nothing about cameras, and some guy popped out of an 11-foot-wide "camera store" on Broadway and convinced me that getting 72 frames off a 36 frame roll was a real smart thing to do. The reason for my purchase tonight on ebay, 43 years later is . . . .uh, I can't remember.
