50 1.2 viewfinder blockage on P ?

How much of your Canon P 50mm bright frame is blocked by the 50 1.2 (assuming no hood?) ? For example, does it block half way from the lower right corner to the outside edge of the rangefinder patch? More? Less?

With my specs I can get close enough to just see the entire 50mm framelines by "relaxed vision". At that point, the edge of the 50/1.2 is just touching the bottom right corner of the 100mm framelines. That's not enough to cause any problem composing.

This is the Canon 50mm F1.5's real claim to fame. It is so small that it does not block the viewfinder on any camera that I've tried it on. Not even the Leica CL or IIIF.

Chris...I understand your "relaxed vision" concept...same as target rifle shooting, similar to Hassleblad Softar sharp/soft filter...but I'm mystified when you say you can "just" get the 50mm frame...

...with glasses and both eyes open, I can almost (but not quite) get all of the 35mm bright frame.

I wonder if our presumably differing specs corrections account for this...leading me back to the question of diopters for these otherwise-nearly-perfect cameras !
