What size of snap-on cap does the 50/2 LTM Nikkor use?
This is a sweet little lens, built like a tank, sharp as a tack & very afforable. It's one of those lens that are often overlooked because of the faster Nikkors available.
Anyway, I'd appreciate the information if anyone can help.

I used to have one of these babies. A real beater, but it held its own against other stuff I had (Nikkor F1.4 and Canon F1.8. Somehow I recall it was a 40.5mm filter.

It takes 40.5mm filters, but if you're looking for a generic plastic slip-on cap, you would probably look want a 42mm (or 41mm, if it's a stretchy rubber/plastic).

I found a 40.5 snap-on cap on ebay and it works fine. I have a generic 42mm cap for my Leica DR 'cron ( 39mm filter size ).

Take her to the store and find a plastic/rubber cap on a product that will fit. Buy three of the products and be happy.
