I have a 50/25 setup or the 35 only .. I found 50/28 good too, but whenever I picked that setup the 50 stayed in the hotel and I was using the 28 only.
 
I voted for 50 & 28. Although most of the time I keep my 35 on the camera, I like the 50 & 28 combination as a two lens kit. I will carry the 50 & 35 only if I take the 21 as a three lens kit.

This has been widely debated on previous threads.

Personally, I like the 28+50 combination a bit more BUT not enough to persuade me to either use an external viewfinder or look for another camera with (comfortably visible!) 28mm frame lines. So, 35+50(+90) it is.
 
I have an M3, and I usually go with a one-lens setup, but for two, I think I'd go 50 and 90. I'd add my 35 for a three-lens kit.
 
I've traditionally been a 35mm/50mm only user. However, I just recently have learned to like a 28mm lens... after trying many, many times in the past.
 
Well, don't know if I did it all wrong, but skiped the 50, and got a 35-90 two lens set-up to go along with my M2 (2.8 summaron and 2.8 elmarit). If I would miss the 5cm, I could always use the elmar on my III-f.

Answering to your question, and provided that your camera will accept the 28 with no extra gadgets, I choose 50 + 28 because of the difference in focal length.
 
50 is almost always on the camera, a 21 and 90 in the bag. When I'm carrying two cameras (which is almost always), a 50 and a 40 on each, mostly because I like the 40 Summicron a lot, and it's so tiny compared to the 50 Summicron. It makes carrying two cameras a lot less bulky.
 
50 & 28 is a good combo, i would like to go wider but then i feel like i need a viewfinder which is a hassle. so i don't.
 
I like the look of the 28 - wide but not distorting with the 50 for everything else. The 35 for me is neither here nor there, not wide, not normal - just doesn't work for me. I have a 21 for everything else.
 
50mm and 28mm is a sweet 2 lens setup.......I used these two focal lengths for years.....then I got a fast 35mm and everything changed

50 and 28. 35 is too close to 50 in my opinion. If I had to choose only one it would be 35 as the ideal all rounder.

Between these two I can never remember ever going out with both. I almost never go out with more than one lens but if I do I typically carry one of these and a longer lens such as the 90. Between the two I use the 50 seventy-five percent of the time and the 35 the rest.

Right now the 50 is getting all the use and will for quite a while. I don't use anything wider since these two do what I need right now.
 
I went with the 50 and even wider option, since I currently have my M6TTL with a 50 Lux and the MP with the 24 Elmar in my bag.

I often will carry the 50 and 28 as well.

My traditional choice for a two lens setup has been 40mm and 90mm, add a 21mm for ultrawide when needed. Lately with the M9 I'm finding myself using the 50mm and 28mm combination more and more, adding the 90mm when I want something longer.

I have 25/35/50. I don't carry both 35 and 50 as they're pretty close to each other when photographing outside as you can take a few seps forward or backwards, when you're inside that's often not possible. I think owning both 35 and 50 makes sense because they're different lenses for different purposes but don't bring them both with you outside.

If you want a two lens setup 28/50 is a great way to go, but I can't live without the 35mm as an all around lens so I bought the ZM 25/2.8 instead of a 28mm.
