Still no Lux ASPH shots.

OK, if you want to see some 50 'lux ASPH shots, here you go.

I'll upload a couple tomorrow when I get my first two rolls back from this lens 🙂
Lovely shots btw Tim
Also, tight focus ring, something that goes away with use, or a trip to a tech to smooth it out?
When I posted that question, members here assured me the focusing would improve in time. I've sent it in twice to Leica. The second time it ended up in Solms, who improved the focusing dramatically. However, as smooth as it now is, it still isn't nearly as smooth as the focusing on my 35 Summicron Asph. If focusing smoothness is important to you, and if my copy focuses with typical smoothness for a 50 'lux Asph, than you might very much regret trading away your 35 'cron Asph. for one.
So make sure you can try the lens out before purchasing.
Good advice.
One of the main things I like about my two crons is how smoothly I can change aperture and focus with one finger while looking through the VFer. More things to consider.
Hex 50/1.2 users--care to add your experience on how smooth your lens changes apertures, and focuses?
Not having any focus shift throughout the distances when focused wide open allows for more care-free shooting.
I had a Summilux 50/1.4 type-3 lens once, but the Hex is far better built.
Summilux v3 is the Asph ?
I thought :
1st version is a Silver/chrome coloured one.
2nd - Black one, E43
3rd e46
and current is ASPH one. Which makes it v4, no?
1st is prior to 1962. 2nd is until 2004 or so (E43 and E46, newer version have 0.7m min. focus and built-in shade). Note that the older E43 incarnation of v2 is better built than the later built-in hood version. 3rd is aspherical (that, BTW, comes in both E43 and E46 as well, E43 for the black paint LHSA version).
At least according to my literature (Hove, Lager, etc).
Roland.
