i use both but lately seem to prefer the 60 over the 50...i'm not looking for a lens comparison on merits but more wondering if others use both or have a preference for one over the other...and maybe why you like one over the other...
if i had to distill one over the other i'd say the 60 is more versatile.

The 60 is a macro lens, so it is more versatile for that reason, but only if you are interested in macro. Otherwise, it is just larger, slower in aperture, and slower in focus, which might make it less versatile if those things matter to the way you shoot.

I've used both but I sold the 60. I didn't use the macro function enough to justify the feature. The 50 works best for me--a little smaller, focuses faster and seems sharper to my eyes.

Having used an old 50 on an APS-C DSLR, I simply don't like the angle of view. But that's very personal of course, it could pair well with a 35 or 28 equivalent. I prefer 85-100 on 35mm, the equivalent of the 60. Pairs well with 50 or 35 or even 28 on 35mm.

I'd love to see a 75/2 along the lines of speed/size/cost/WR of the other glass they've brought out.

For street photography, I think the 18/2 and the 50/2 are a great combination. 18/2 when I'm in a crowd, 50 for everything else. I'm in the process of selling off some stuff so that I can repurchase those two lenses for use on the XE3... which I purchased in part because of all the raving you did about it, Joe!

still loving the xe3...now just trying to figure out the 'best' kit for me...wanting to keep it to the small lenses and most versatile/flexible...waiting for the small 16 and then will make a final decision.
For me the 50mm has faster AF, smaller size, and is WR. I prefer 75mm to 90mm as well.

When I had a 21/35/90 kit for my M I wanted more space between lenses. I was thinking about the 23/2 as the anchor lens and then move from there. While the 50 will have to be OK, I was hoping to try a 70/2 to go along with the 23.
Going wide there are plenty of manual focus lenses that will work fine and have enough depth of field I'm not worried about needing AF. I know I want faster AF on the moderate telephoto space.

I mostly use an XE-3 with the 35mm f2... But sometimes the 27mm and the 50mm. Also use these on the X-Pro2 as well. I have the 18-55mm and 23mm F2 as well, but rarely use them. And you?

John: are you sure you still have a 23mm f2? I know you sold me one a few years ago. It stays on my camera about 90% of the time, the other 10% being my 14mm. I have made a few international trips where that 23mm was the only lens I brought.

I have a 56mm Fuji lens that I use on my Fuji X.
I have 50 and 55mm adapted lenses that I use on my Fuji X.
One of my 55mm adapted lenses is a macro lens.
I have never used a 50mm or 60mm Fuji X lens.
If forced to choose between a 50mm or 60mm Fuji X lens, I would choose the 60mm macro provided I could continue using my 56mm f/1.2 Fuji lens.

The 60mm Fuji lens is the slowest focusing lens I have ever seen, in any system. It is shocking how slow this lens focuses.
Yes Bob, I sold you mine but then rebought it with the xe3 since it was only $250 new. Glad you like it still. I tend to use the x100f more. If I ever sell the X100F, then the 23mm will come in handy.

The planned 16/2.8 will be pre-ordered by me as soon as that's offered. I've almost bought the 16/1.4 on several occasions but I've always backed out due to the size of the thing. I've used 24mm lenses in the past on Nikons and Canons and I really like the 24mm perspective over other wide angles.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed the new 16mm will be in the same price range and image quality range as the three "Fujicrons".

i carry one body with lens attached everywhere i go. i shoot mostly around my work site at lunch times during my lunch stroll...lens choice is dependent on my mood or if i have a shot in mind...but often it's the 60 macro...i have also been using the 35 more trying to get more used to it...it's coming along. i also like the 27...

i hear this a lot but it's not been my experience at all. the worst that it gets is when the lens grabs onto an object and locks on to it.
is your lens updated and your camera also?

I do not own this lens, but have used it from time to time borrowing it from my friend. It is easily, THE slowest lens I have ever seen. The worst of the worst of Canon's EF lenses stomp Fuji's 60mm lens hands down. I have no issues at all with the optical quality of the Fuji 60mm. It's clearly top notch. For some odd reason, Fuji sourced an autofocus motor from the mid 1980's for this lens. Inexplicable.
