Good interview of Bill Ray's photo of Marilyn Monroe singing happy birthday to President Kennedy. He shot this with a 300mm lens. As you will hear in the story if he had been using a rangefinder he never would of got the photograph. One plus for SLR's.

In the NYC subway Station @ Bryant Park
There is a series of six B&W shots , Quite Large 4 to 5 feet tall of Marilyn out & about in NYC
They are Stunning !!
The Photo I Adore in the set is of Marilyn reading a Newspaper next to two Lovers Kissing on a Park Bench... Its Tres tongue in Cheek
Must look & see who the photographer was...sooooo Good !

What camera, exactly what 300mm lens, how much film did he actually shoot to get that image and what film was it?

I wondered those same things Keith. Perhaps someone with knowledge can inform us on what 300mm lens & film could of pulled this off. I'm sure it was some kind of Nikon kit.
