50mm Contax RF Lens Caps -- Has there ever been a more nerdy inquiry?

Cool! Now I know where to ask: What one do I need to look for to use with my 1937 collapsible 50/2 Sonnar? I'd like one that would look like it came with the lens, especially if I have it out and about on my soon to be here Nikon S4... 😉

The pre-war Contax II I have (that I need to get fixed) came with a 50mm F2 that has that leather cap. Its in good shape, but not one I would use as it falls off the lens rather easily.


I do need to get a rear lens cap for the lenses though...

For those I like to buy the new 3-d printed ones. They hold up better in my camera bag.

Yes, some of these lens accessories get to be even pricier than the lenses they belong to. I recall that my circa 1960 Leica Hektor 135mm f/4.5 came with caps but no hood and cost me $140. A clean, original lens hood was almost $200 ...

I got the black one in hammertone with the Carl Zeiss Jena inscription. I guess it isn‘t rare but suits my Sonnar fine.
