Leica LTM 50mm f2 Summicron...opinions this copy?

Leica M39 screw mount bodies/lenses
Could be a reasonable user. Could have internal haze needing cleaning for $75 or so. For that condition and assumed risk, a reasonable price.

With a serial number of 1,156,363 thats a mid 1950's (probably 1955) Leica Collapsible Summicron 50/2.
F2-F16

Minimum focus: 1 meter
Weight: 255 Grams

The sample I have seems very well built- locks solidly, focusing is smooth and stable, click stops at whole f stops- I'm still waiting to get fresh chemicals so I can develop the first three rolls I've shot with it, but from what I've read this is a very respectable piece of glass. Albeit that one your friend bought looks to be in kind of rough shape. Without cleaning I bet your friend is going to be frustrated with the negatives from that lens.

The condition of the front glass will certainly have an effect on the images; for the seller to state otherwise is not ethical IMO. The extent of the effect cannot be determined until it is used.

I've told him I'm going to pass.
My history of buying "bargain" items has not been very good.
Perhaps we'll see this one in the classifieds section as he tries to cut his losses.
