Just got myself a really nice black 50mm pre ASPH (the version before the built in hood)

2 questions:

1. I can't fit the original hood after screwing in my 39mm B + W UV MRC filter. Is there anyway i can go around this?

2. Because of problem number 1, any significant flare problems if i use the lux without the hood?
 
You need to get a very thin filter, Leica might still make them, flare is an issue with this lens but I still like it!

I'd second the CV 43 hood, same ones that come with the 40/1.4s, is very compact - it's possible that those owners who use the bigger LH5 or LH6s might have one as a spare.

However, the v2 E43 is pretty much flare resistant, in my limited experience, and your spare hand can easily block as much or more than a hood.

One note is that with the period Leitz filters are thin to allow the fitment of the factory hoods, there are no threads on the front, so if you want to use the factory UV, you need to use a factory hood, not a screw in. The factory hood 12526? Is pretty nice and reverses nicely, but the whole setup is just a bit large for my 1 camera and lens bag.

A collapsible 43mm screw in rubber hood, that allows the screwing in of a 43mm filter at the base would be ideal.

Thanks to Ferider for sending a wide variety of rare factory and 3rd party 43mm hoods and filters for me with the last package.
