50mm Summicron IV need 'fixing'

I bought the lens on this site about a year ago. After a few test rolls, the focusing was a little off, but I decided to live with it. But now its getting really annoying.

The lens is ridiculously sharp at f/2, but my subject is always out of focus. if i focus for the eyes, then the ears are sharp, and eyes are blurry.

i decided, that i'm just going to send it out. its definitely the lens, because i get the same results on my m8. and my other lens works fine on the m6 and the m8.

i live in florida, so based on that, where is the best place to send the lens, for the quickest fix? i'm heading for my cousins wedding in mid september, so i'd need it by then.

i think the lens has been messed around with a little. the 'inner ring' which connects to the camera, definitely has some 'dents' in it (not sure if that's the correct way to describe it), but it looks like its been 'shaved down'?

does it sound like an easy fix? i mean, will a CLA of the lens take care of the issue? or would something else have to be done also? and any ideas on approximately how much a Lens CLA might cost?

I would contact Sherry Krauter (sherrykrauter.com). It's tough to say what it will cost. But her prices are very reasonable. And she's definitely one of the best.

I too recommend Sherry. Just know she starts work late in the day so call her later (after 6pm EST ) rather than earlier.
