Thanks, Roland. I might want to hear more about Ben's Summilux, giving Dave first dibs, of course. And Sherm, what has you selling the Sonnar so quickly, if I may ask?

I have some house guests arriving tonight, but will try to post some photos. It is a sweet lens and I am loathe to part with it . . . I just can't think of a way to raise money for an M8 without parting with some gear. Looks like the Sinar 4x5, the 500C, the M6, the 50 Elmarit, the 90 Tele-Elmarit, the Zone VI 4x5 etc. will be on the block before long. The sad thing is that analogue gear has dropped in price enough that the dollars I will get for this stuff will nowhere near equal the enjoyment I get from the gear. Now where did I put that lottery ticket ?
Dave, I don't suppose you've got a DR 50 without eyes in decent shape that you'd consider as part of a trade?

In what areas is the ZM 50/1.5 inferior and the Summilux superior, and vice versa? I know this is somewhat subjective but I am just curious.

Honestly I have not seen enough images taken with the Sonnar to make a judgment about it. I have seen plenty though from the Summilux and really like what I see. Mine is a vote for the Summilux, not against the Sonnar.

Ben,
I've got a rigid - not DR - 'cron right now that is in great condition but you mentioned you wanted a DR.
Let's stay in touch and discuss this though - I know you said it's an early version but what I'm looking for is a "second generation" and onward - I know the optical formula basically hasn't changed since then according to Gandy (hmm... maybe "ATG" should be added to the net.speak language like "LOL" or "WTF?" - mind you.. only RFF and camera geeks would get it.
Thanks,
Dave

I concur with your statement Ralph.
It's not so much that I don't WANT a Sonnar..but I haven't seen much shot with it as well
I guess I could hunt through Kyle's posts to see if he's posted any in the gallery or in the ZM forum but I haven't done so as of yet.
