Hi all,
I haven't had a chance to thoroughly test this, but my 50mm ASPH summilux doesn't seem to be focusing properly at infinity. The rangefinder patch just doesn't want to line up entirely. I never had this problem on my MP or R-D1 from what I can remember. My 50mm rigid cron seems to line up fine.
At first I thought that a shot taken with the lense wide open and racked to infinity would show up in focus, but that doesn't appear to be the case - the photo is out of focus. Any thoughts? If I send it in for coding would they perform a CLA & calibrate?

The lens is 5 to 6 years old...
I'm pretty sure that it is a lens issue, not a camera issue.

Are you sure ?
Do you have any other lenses ?
My M9 and (I bought new) 50mm f1.4 ASPH don't exactly line up at infinity but the pictures appear to be in focus, both at infinity and close range
I had a 28mm elmarit ASPH which also appeared the same through the viewfinder, but infinity seemed to be in focus.
I took my camera and 50mm into the Leica shop in London and they did a focus test and said that the focus plain at f1.4 was within the zone, although they only did shortish range checks.
Now I am using a 90mm I am getting more nervous about this ?
I can't be bothered to send them off to Leica as the pictures look great but perhaps I should before the warranty runs out ?

My M8 was off a bit. I thought it was my lens but it was the body. The same lenses work perfectly on my M9.
