524/2 in Good Condition: Estimate?

I've owned a Ikonta 524/2 with leather case, Novar-Anastigmat lens, uncoupled rangefinder, etc. for several years now. I bought it at a yard sale, but never learned to use it, so am now considering selling it to someone who can appriciate it more than me. Anyone know what such a camera is worth, or someplace online that might list estimated values? Thanks.

I assume hte Ikonta 524/2 is 6x9 cm?
Novar-Anastigmat 105mm?
Are all the speeds accurate?
Is the bellows lighttight?
Is the camera in good condition?

All those factors will influence the price.



You can always look at the ePay aucions and track a few before deciding what your camera is worth.
Also you have the McKewons (or something like that) book.

As usual the value of a camera is what anybody is willing to pay for it.

Thanks! I didn't see a 524/2 on ebay(?), but I did see a couple on other web sites with prices around $225US. Yes, it is 6x9, 105mm, speeds I'm not sure about, bellows are tight and it's in good condition, but I suppose the best way to have it evaluated is bring it to someone in person. Cheers.

For that model with the Novar, I wouldn't pay more than $135. The model with the Tessar often goes for more than $200.

You might be able to get $175 from a novice or someone not familiar with the camera.

But it's all supply and demand and timing. The prices are all over the map, and I've seen them sell for less than $100 to nearly $300.

And as the others have said, the biggest factor is the physical condition of the camera. Provide an accurate description with sharp photos, if you decide to sell through online auction or here.

Prices are in €, not so much a difference to US$ at the moment in this scale.

There are in fact TWO 524/2's on the list, an Ikonta C and an Ikonta M (funny thing the C is called the "Mess-Ikonta", but it's nothing to do with the mess it can cause to your relationships when you mess around with classic cameras all the time, rather it means "rangefinding"...) - perhaps one of the Zeiss enthusiasts like Mike Elek or Mike Kovacs can give us a hint what the difference might be?

Mess = measuring in German, a reference to the rangefinder (Mess-Sucher)

524/2 is a Ikonta C with an uncoupled rangefinder, either both are the same, or the one listed as C is actually a 523/2. (same camera but without RF)

EDIT - why the heck didn't I notice? Jesko already probably knows a few words of German 😉
