i've been looking at a lot of photos and browsing the forums for articles/opinions about the pre-ASPH summilux 35mm, and was ready to start looking for one.

unfortunately, a quick check on leica's list of "codable"older lenses doesn't show this summilux.

has anyone coded their summilux, possibly by removing the flange and sending it to john milich?

thanks for your help

greetings from hamburg

thanks, jaq157. maybe you have the ASPH version of that lens??? mine is coded too, no problem, but i'm curious about coding the PRE-ASPH model.

kind regards

rick

no worries - no confusion. i did buy the lens but don't have it yet. if i or a camera repairman can safely remove the flange, i may send it to milich for 6-bit milling. wish me luck!

Hi Rick,

Be very careful, some Summilux 35 Pre-Asph doesn't fit on the M8, or only unless you do cut some metal on the back of the lens.
If you don't already have one pre-asph, You better should look for an Asph to buy, it's an amazing lens. I love it.
