Bear with me if this is old news, but I just discovered that B&H is selling Kodak 620 and 828.
Two questions:
1. Am I hallucinating?
2. Does anyone have any experience with this stuff, or know if it's something they're planning on making for any reasonable amount of time?
Thanks,
--Chris

No, you aren't hallucinating. They've been selling this film for a while. As I understand it, they are getting 120 re-spooled onto the 620 reels. As for the 828, it might well be a similar story. There used to be a company called Film for Classics, which did this; I think B&H got wind of the idea, saw an opportunity to cash in on a market- however small- and took it over. Whatever the story, this is modern film stock like Tri-X or a similar Ilford film. They sell if you want it- but it costs the earth...

At the very least, it's a good opportunity to dust off some of the hitherto unused dinosaurs in my collection and actually use them. This might just be all I need to finally give in to temptation and get a Bantam Special.

I figured they were res-pooling because of the prices. A bit too high for me to quite re-spooling 120 to 620 myself (for the 2 times a year I play with my Kodak Medalists)
It's great that another company is offering these film types though.

I still haven't picked up a Medalist yet, but that two is on the list. If nothing else, they'd make a great close quarters weapon.

Ambitious, but rubbish
I have a brownie hawkeye flash which will take straight 120 but the take up spool needs to be 620. I also have a duaflex II where the 120 spool wont fit, so I'll have to respool. Another option I've heard of but haven't tried myself is simply trimming the 120 spools so that they will fit in the 620 space.

In some cameras that works fine, but there simply isn't any room in an unconverted medalist. The 120 spools are too tall.
I know what you mean about the "Close Quarters", dang that thing's heavy. I don't recommend dropping it on a tiled floor...it would damage the tiles!
