I put a playful punt of 50 of our English quids on one of these thinking it would be handy for smaller prints. I won it at £39 + shipping.
I've just done a 3-way comparison with a cheapo Kowa 50mm and my previous "how can it get better than this?" 50mm EL-Nikkor.
Well, it gets better. It's sharper than the 50 to the corners and has better resolution. This has to be the best £40 I ever spent on a lens. Who said enlarging lenses don't matter? Posting pictures would be pointless as a jpeg will never convey the difference.
I am no longer in the market for a Focotar.
Impressed,
Mark

I have the 50 2.8 and 105 and like them better than my Rodagon or componon S. The only lens that I feel is comperable is my Fujinon EX. The Nikkors are excellent.
I didn't know Nikon made a 63 but I generally use the next longer focal length than the normal for a given neg size. EI 80 for 35, 105 for 6x6, 135 for 6x7 and 180 for 4x5. I like a little longer working distance when enlarging.
