I used a Mamiya 645 Super with 45mm, 55mm, 80mm, and 150mm lenses almost exclusively for more than 10 years. It is capable of incredible image quality, while still being small and light enough to carry around all day, and its easily handholdable. I think 645 is a great compromise between the small, lightweight handholdability of 35mm and the image quality of bigger formats like 6x7.
