6x6cm & 6x9cm "Miniature" Cut Film Club

Hi All,

I am just getting going with 6x9cm sheet film, and also, cutting it down with my Hasselblad Scissors, to 6x6cm, and shooting it in my Blads. I have just run nine sheets at once, in a Honeywell Nikor Miniature Film Rack, which fits and works well so far. I'm settling on a four reel Nikor tank, and filling it with two 35mm reels, and then dropping in the film rack. There is no sliding around with this arrangement, when inverting the tank. The film looks good, and I have just hung it up to dry. Efke 100 processed in ADOX Borax MQ developer, the developer is at least six months old, but still just fine. I'm also using the ADOX replenisher.

Interesting macro views with my new Hasselblad 135mm F5.6 Planar-S and Automatic Bellows. Also shooting 6x9cm focus-test shots with my Plaubel Makiflexes.

Anybody else out there using 6x9cm sheet film? What other varieties of B&W are available? I know I have seen 6x9 Fomapan in Europe.

I have put together a Mamiya Universal kit with a 6X9 Graflok back and am using sheet film in Grafmatics for 90% of my shooting in that format. Also have a Horseman 980 with lenses. I think it is a great format. Just more agravating to have to deal with sheet film than with roll film but you have the advantage of individual development if desired.

I am shooting Arista 100 sheet film but want to cut down some T-max 400 to use at 800 ASA for handheld stuff.

I also shoot 4X5 and 5X7.

Good to hear from another 6x9cm sheet film user. It is a great format, and very portable!

I've read that you split 5x7" into four equal pieces, it fits the 6x9 holders perfectly. That would be cool, as I happen to have 50 sheets of fresh Ilford HP5+ 5x7", which would give me 200 6x9cm sheets. My Rotatrim rotary trimmer and some good "benchstops" would make it do-able.

Mid Ohio, I have seen Foma at Midwest, but have not been down for a while, I would think they carry 6x9 sheets?

People are buying up film at the shows, so they are a bit like fishing.

Am sure the folks at Midwest can advise as well.

I used to shoot a Busch, in 2.25 x 3.25 (6x9)
