6x9 enlargers ?

Not so lucky , It's the DeVere 54 Quite old according to the seller but comes with all mask,s from 35mm up to 5x4 and the usual pile of developing gear ,trays, tongs etc etc and was working fine the last time he used it. but at £10 ($19.50) and only 40 minutes down the road from me it will do :)

Well picked the enlarger up today , It's big  nearly 5 foot tall fully extended, Looks like I'm going to have to saw the legs of the table it's going on in the cellar as there's only 6 foot six inch clearance :D

The seller warned me that it took some time to warm up before it worked , but after twenty minutes and not a glimmer of light , out came the toolkit :( a loose wire was reattached and after 2 minutes we had light . Screwed in the lens put a 35mm negative in and hit the lights , soon became obvious that the 50mm lens wasn't the original as it will not focus ,I think it needs a recessed mount as I had no problem focusing with the 80mm lens . All I need now is a nice period 1950's enlarger timer and I'm sorted :D

Very true Ash , I was just browsing the darkroom listings on Eb*y and hit newly listed , Up popped the De Vere for £10 Buy It Now located my side of Manchester , At that price and so near it just had to be bought , The fact that the wife is away for 5 days Christmas shopping in New York was obviously fate :D

You don't think she will notice a DeVere 54 enlarger in the house??? You must have very large desk drawers.

LOL:D

I have a machine shop (lathe ,milling machine ,drill etc) in the cellar but fortunately enough room to partition off for a darkroom , My wife bless her never goes down there . It's where I go to escape the kids and relax .

I need a recessed lens mount for the 50mm lens , If I have a suitable piece of aluminium it will take an hour or so , Cost =zero ,Now that's relaxing ;) :D
