$7.49?

So is Freestyle kinda "freestyling" here with the high prices?

I really like Freestyle, but I find it hard to use them for anything else besides Arista brand and hard to find specialty items because of the significant markup. Spread the wealth with other stores, I figure.

In the UK it's about £3.75 for a 35mm roll or £18 for 5 120 here which is cheap (about the same at 2.5L petrol or a little more than a pint of beer for a single roll)
Is that the absolute cheapest you can find it?
If not a bulk order from UK or Europe might make sense...

The 120 pro pack has actually been a little cheaper then that - I recently saw it for £15, which is frankly excellent for such a superb film - it's £16.40 as I type this on Amazon, delivered.

Makes a nice change from the all round price rises for basically every other film stock (especially miss the 5 pack of Portra 160 for £16.29 that 7dayshop used to stock).

I think it's Kodak showing potential customers (buying the Film division) how much people are willing to pay for the product. The more expensively film sells for, the better the deal seems.

Suppose Kodak B&W film gets sold to XYZ Corp. Will the price of the film will go down ... or up? I guess up.

+1

I've done a pretty thorough search for film and Freestyle's only good for chemicals and their Arista products. Everything else can't compete with Adorama/B and H

Agreed, I've found that Freestyle is usually a bit more expensive (and they overcharge on their shipping like crazy because their site is set up to charge shipping based on the total cost of the items being purchased rather than take the true shipping cost and mark it up even a few percentage) but carries a wider selection than B&H. Thankfully, I live close enough I can go to B&H in person 🙂

$4.25/roll of Tmax 400 in 35mm: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/29137-USA/Kodak_8521114_TMY_135_24_Roll_T_Max.html

$64.95 for a bulkload of the same: http://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/product/29132-USA/Kodak_1587716_TMY_35mm_100_Roll.html

Freestyle didn't seem to be that high priced on name brand film and paper just a few years ago. Don't know what they are thinking. At least here in the US prices are always easy to check elsewhere and shipping from B&H is reasonable. Perhaps they are trying to drive business toward their house brand film and paper where they can control cost more effectively and have a steady, reliable markup.
