Had some film in one camera, but decided not to use it in order to move the film to another camera. No pictures were taken (techincally). Just advanced enough to make sure it was properly wound.

I released it and wound it back 3 turns, but when removing it from the camera it pulled out a bit leaving about 8" of exposed film.

If I install it in the new camera. About how many advances do you think I might have to do to get past the exposed section of film?

Or not bother and just toss it

Thanks

Each frame is 36mm wide plus about 2mm between each frame so each wind on moves film 38mm assuming of course it is a 35mm camera. An inch is 25.4mm. You can do the maths and don't forget the length of the leader.

Or, if you didn't rewind it into the canister, just use that as your new starting point and go until you can't advance any more. That will be the end of the film.
