7 page test Leica M7 v Zeiss Ikon v Bessa R3

Don't know if anyone has mentioned this but this weeks Amateur Photography has a comparison test of these three cameras.
Seems a fair test, and reviewer said he liked all three cameras. Basically what you bought would depend on the size of your bank balance (or ego?)

There aren't any major insights about the cameras. If anything I found the article rather sterile.

One problem AP is going to face is that with such a huge resource on the net, a camera gear user is more likely going to elicit info from the web searches comparing cameras. Provided he can read and filter out irrelevant information, the info is all there on the web. It really depends on the calibre of the reviewer then. Plus with RFF get together and camera drool sessions, it's a lot easier for forum users to decide based on experience rather than some reviewers opinion.

$0.02

Some AP articles are fantastic - the review of the Konica 35mm compact camera stands out in my mind. An all manual rangefinder test would be sweet - say Leica MP vs Voigtlander R3M vs whatever else...

The very most "information " based on "experience" you get from the www sources is strongly biased, sometimes surprisingly incompetent or plain old wive tale from any boasters and stuffed shirts, who cannot tell a** from elbow but finally have found a place to present their own greatness to the world.

Actually it is extremely difficult to find the reliable, neutral and competent sources in the www. . That is what I had to learn laboriously while cruising the photo forums. The selection process is time eating and exhausting and sometimes really depressing.
