I've been getting a couple of 70mm rolls now and then, and this semester I thought i'd try it out. If it's a success I'll make a book about it at the university course I'm at.
So I found a Hasselblad 555 ELD with the 70mm back, so now I only have to find a lens(!) and developing gear (spirals mostly) to get going. I live in the town where all Hasselblad gear was manufactured before they turned digital but it's not possible to find the stuff you need – at least for reasonably money.

Thank you! I've loaded a small piece of Kodak 2484 from 1975, another cassette with Ilford Aerial N from 1971 and just found a ready loaded Tri-x cassette from I don't know where. I'm going to try them with a Metz tomorrow and see what shape they're in.
The cassettes loaded by Kodak is about 5-6 meters, right?

15 feet so yes 5-6 meters. 70 6x6 exposures approx.
Of course you can do less. 220 lengths are convenient to shoot

Calzone and I did some day trading. I sent him a 100 foot roll of Kodak 70mm WL Surveillance Film, and a Nikor 70mm reel, and he sent me a 70mm Kindermann Developing Reel Loading Stand. Here it is ^^ BTW in that A70 back had a 220 length of the Rollei fresh 70mm in it. I have now loaded it into a JOBO Multitank 2, and the homemade 70mm JOBO which I made wider, so 70mm stock fits the Multitank 2 so I am now good to go. This tank is great for short ends of 70mm. 220 length is about the max for the JOBO reel, great for clip tests.
I need more Photo Flo, then I will run this test roll. Will be using Rollei Supergrain Developer which is recommended by Rollei for the 70mm Rollei film. Freestyle stocks this Rollei developer, hope they have more

I'm ordering more Rollei Supergrain for the fresh 70mm Rollei 400s. AM74 developer type is venerable, unique and hard to find. Here is the link:

I have 70mm Rollei film loaded to process but waiting for Photoflo.
Freestyle is open, B&H closed for the Holidays.
Been building down in the darkroom. Slowly getting there. Good time to do more wet printing if I have time.

Dan,
Surely makes it easy to load both cassettes and reels.
I still own the Linhof version.
EZ-PZ.
BTW many thanks for the film and Nikkor reel.

30.5 Meters of this fresh 70mm film is available for 85 Euros HERE:
https://www.macodirect.de/film/infrarotfilm/rollei-400-professional-70mm-x-30-5m-doppelt-perforiert
Macodirect Customer Service at one point told me they have hundreds of rolls available.
For me this works out to about 25 cents for each exposure of 6x6 70mm fresh film.

Calzone likes this film processed in Diafine with minimal agitation.
I needed to add several stops of extra exposure, to get the shadow detail where I wanted it. It does have an almost "infared" type of "look" which can be pictorial in my opinion. But this is not like Tri-X. A gallon of Diafine A&B can last for years I have read.
The AM74-type "Rollei Supergrain" developer I selected, because 400s is listed on the developer bottle as being compatible with this film. Haven't tried anything else at this point. I order Supergrain from Freestyle in California. I used the 1:9 dilution as I didn't want a long development time. ID11 and HC110 are both listed on the Digital Truth website so it looks very promising. D74 is earlier version of Supergrain.

Sometimes it is helpful to look at the negs also. When loading this film be gentle, I had some crescent moon loading marks on the first roll. I think this film has a thin base.
Three f/stop bracket of 400s. Exposed at EI 200, EI 100, and EI 50. I prefer to see the negs and pick the one that has the detail I can see best. YMMV

Somebody was asking about sleeves for 70mm film.
I buy these Kenro 120 sleeves on Ebay, they are in the UK. They fit 70mm film (or 616) no problems. And the cool thing is that they are available in glassine paper, clear poly, or frosted poly. I opted for paper glassines.

The Kenro sleeves are very good, I've been buying them for years for both 135 and 120 films. I prefer the glassine type as well. A couple of years ago I purchased some plastic sleeves by mistake, but they were supposed to be top quality. When I pulled them out of the package they were so static I they made my hair stand up. Never again!

I've just been told that if you filter this same exact film you can get a truly beautiful infared effect.............

I'm just finishing a short roll of 70mm Unperforated Efke PL100, in one of my Beatty Coleman 70mm Transet backs, rolling it through my Plaubel Makiflex Standard. PL100 has always been a favorite of mine. I will process it in ADOX Borax MQ, or maybe PMK+. I'll use the big 70mm Kindermann Tank 'cause it's a fairly long roll.
