75 Summilux, M8 and RF parallax

In more screwing around with the 75 Summilux (and a Poon-supplied magnifier), I noticed that if I wear glasses, the rangefinder hits a tiny bit (a few mm) behind the subject unless I focus to the nearest distance where the RF still lines up (i.e., focus from far to near).

Without glasses, the focus is dead on, no matter from what direction the camera is focused. Is this a function of eye position and parallax error in the RF system?

Well, I can hardly understand why wearing glasses will change the focus of a camera/lens combo simply because you are wearing glasses. Obviously, it's a magnification problem causing an illusion because of the distortion induced by your glasses.

It has been said, repeated and emphasized since the first RF days in the 1920-ies: Rangefinder focussing is dependant on the vision of the photographer.It will even show up discrepancies of the eye that go unnoticed in daily life. I have been flamed in backfocussing threads for advising to visit the optician before messing with the camera and lenses. Thank you for your observation, It is 100% correct. The best thing to do is visit your optician and hold his correction lenses in front of your viewfinder. You'll soon find the one you need to order from Leica.
