85 filter on BW

Hi!

Can I use a 85 filter on BW as a neutral density\contrast intensifier?
What would the effect be?

Yes, you can - I assume a Wratten 85. It will act as a weak orange as blue is transmitted, but you may like the subtle increase in contrast. As far as neutral density, it is only 2/3 of a stop increase in exposure compensation.
