Does anyone know who makes 90mm enlarging lenses? Apparantly this is the ideal size for 6x7.
What are the downsides to using a (much more common) 80mm lens with the aforementioned negative size?
thanks

Chad, it won't matter much. The only thing you have to watch out for is that the enlarger lens covers your negative format, for that reason, if your enlarger can handle it, it would be safer to get a 105mm enlarger lens then 80mm, if you can't find a 90mm.

What Wimpler says is true but you will be able to make larger prints with the 80mm lens, as long as it covers the 6x7 format. My 80mm Schneider covers 6x7 with no problem.

I have a 90mm Kodak Ektar that does a fine job, however, I ususally use a 105mm for that size.

I have a 105mm Componon but no lens board with that diameter. Is printing 8x10's realistic with this lens (Beseler 23C II, standard length uprights)?
I still don't know, what would I need to look out for with using an 80mm lens for 6x7? Vignetting?
thanks everyone

Yes, fall off at the corners (lighter than they should be) and softness in the corners too. Fuji made an excellent 90mm enlarging lens, and there is also a great Nikon 105 out there as well. Your Componon should do just fine for 8x10's on a 23C, and lens boards are pretty easy to come by these days.

Yes. I had a 23CII and 105mm lens for my Pentax 6x7 negatives. Works fine.
