90mm f2 Summicron CLA - Where to go?

Hi All,

I lucked out over the weekend, and pounced on a Version II 90mm f2 chrome M-mount Summicron in the classifieds here (for $200!). I had a black version of this Canadian lens, twenty years ago. So now, I have my M2 back, and my 90 Summicron 😀 .

Apparently it's got some cleaning marks, which I can live with (so does my M2), and the focusing helical is not butter-smooth, like it -should- be. So, a CLA seems entirely fitting.

Where do you guys recommend to do the work? I'm thinking maybe Sherrie Krauter, but I'm open to your helpful suggestions. 😎

I just got an Elmar 2.8 - 50 back from her and it really cleaned up. I recommend her highly. I'm thinking of sending her my Summitar 2.0-50.

Actually a 2.8 Elmar is on my radar screen right now. Hard to go wrong with that one on the M2 😛

I'm emailing Sherrie. I understand her turn-around is roughly three weeks, which is really something IMO.

Does anyone know where I can get a E48 Leitz UVa for my new Summicron? I see them at over $100... Adorama has one used for $50. Is that a good deal, or does anybody here have one for sale?

Sherry Krauter did a beautiful job on my 90mm summicon. Then it sat unused to I sold it.

I just finished emailing Sherry. Man she has some nice used stuff! Nothing in E48 unfortunately. Other early-vintage E48's seem to be plentiful on Ebay, so I'll just wait to get a good one in a box

I'm hoping this lens will compliment my Canon F1.2 on the M2. I did use my original V2 black one (some) back when I also had my 50DR and 35f2.
