if it IS fuji, it is way better than the fuji c-41 sold around here ...

^^ Patrick, I think that explains why it's being offloaded at 99 cents -- could be a mislabeled batch of Fuji 200. Welcome to the wonderful world of surplus.
Too bad I can't get it here. And what's worse, CVS is apparently dropping 200 speed (which is, of course, relabeled Fuji) altogether. Guess who missed the close-out sale at $6/4 rolls.

Paul, if those shots are an accurate representation of the film's colour balance, colour me impressed! The cheapest stuff I can find is off-brand Fuji sold by Shoppers Drug Mart, and it tends to have violent contrast and sharp reds. Your shots look like Portra. I like 'em.

A buck is the max I like to pay for film anyways, unless it's 36 exp.
I always check dollar stores for 11x14 frames and scoop them up. Gettin' to be hard to find though.

thanks, tapes. the friend who turned me on the memories says he was told by someone in the know that it is film made on former konica equipment and stock. perhaps fuji bought the kit ...

Paul, are those scans from your Epson 4490? I should really learn how to make better use of mine.

btw... the boxes of the film expire in October of this year. I'm not sure if they are going to restock the film after this batch. I bought 20 rolls in the meantime, and when October rolls around, I'll get some more to toss into the freezer if I don't see the dollar store re-stocking with fresher film.
