At the beginning again.
My thoughts are with your camera.
Personal head cold remedy? Depending on age and mobility: Caffeine, nose drops, and a good bit of exercise to get the sweat going. Of course, it's the last thing anyone feels like doing, but sweating it out really works for me. Remember that caffeine though, and it helps ward off migraines I hear.

Excellent Ray! Enjoy it. Always good to hear that customs does not create a hassle.
Joe, all the best!

Yes, it was nice putting a face to the name. We looked pretty suspicious in the parking lot, trading camera equipment out of the trunk of my car!
Feel better, Joe. So sorry to hear about your run of bad luck with the Canons. If you're not careful, the Leica folks will think that Canon's are more fragile than the M's.![]()
...his Canon Vi-t...
Yes, that's the one I got from (Laptoprob) Rob last week. Got in from Holland safe and sound. Thank you, Rob.

Joe we need to find QUICK an underwater housing for your Canons !
The light gathering window has behind it the framelines and I guess that there is the parallax compensation mechanism as well. That moves as you focus so maybe that's the problem. Could you try to stick something to the window plastic and pull so that at least you can bring it to the front ?
And btw I'm libra as well, maybe I should order an underwater housing for me too

I hope that in your despair you manage to find time to appreciate the M Classic bag. I've had mine since Christmas and taken it on trips to Las Vegas and to France and it has served very well. They make nice wrist straps too. The bag is very sturdy but lightweight, hugs the body well under the arm, and all the gear is easily accessible. But of course if you've nothing to put in it...

i think i will like the bag.
the straps could be a little longer as they have a fair way to travel around my roundness.
didn't drop or break anything today, so far...

Joe,
You must be kidding! My roundness is truly massive, and my M-Systems fits me just fine over the neck & shoulders! True, I had to extend it all the way...
Best Regards,

hey bill, we could have a 'round off' to check for a winner! lol
i too extended the straps all the way but i also like to have the bag resting against the top part of my butt.
aslo it seems like there have been a couple of (at least) versions of the bag. i think mine is older because there is no short hand strap on it.
it's in great shape though it looks used, kinda perfect for my needs.

Did the Canonator try to bite your finger off? Yup, opens up that little window and bites whatever comes through it.
You are going to need a set of fine tipped needle-nosed pliers and some small screwdrivers. This is a 30 minute fix. The hardest part is getting the top back on so that it is perfectly flat, otherwise the shutter release will not fire. The hold up on that is the frame selector dial properly grabbing and sitting perfectly on the lever that does the work.

Where's Joe!!
You have a PM!
Hey buddy, if you have to, Send it to me!
I will give it my best dumb look. That dumb look fixed the meter and framelines on the last Canon 7 that I bought!

hey brian,
i did get your p.m. and and your most generous offer.
i'm stuck in 'decision mode'. i'm hoping to hear from essex, maybe tomorrow, and will have a better idea of my next move after that.
and although terrified, i am carefully considering opening up the 7 myself.
(but doubtful that will happen)
