Many of the "Super Nooky" devices that you see for various cameras include a wide rectangular lens for the rangefinder and a screw-in close-up lens.
Those were brought out by third parties after Leica came out with the NOOKY. My favorite name of the bunch is the (I kid you not) "Pleasant Auto-Up Super Nooky". I almost bought one of those just because of the name.
Aside from the double-entendre (or would that be a triple or quadruple entendre?) amusement factor, however, the third-party alternatives I ran across had little to offer. I paid only about $15 more than the going rate for those third party devices for my genuine (and optically superior) Leitz NOOKY-HESUM.
When it comes to NOOKY, accept no substitutes.

Nice shots David and Roland,
Thanks for clearing that up n5jrm.
Here's my NOOKY with the Elmar on the IIIa I used for the photo's, minus the SCNOO (yes, Johan your ex-SCNOO
).
Not the best I could do with an R-D1 and visoflex :|

Thanks to all for this thread: it pushed me to get one from the auction site last night. Looking forward to using it on my IIIf with the 5cm f3.5 Elmar attached.

This GAS is catching, I just got one off ebay for £30, did I pay too much? I look forward to giving it a go on my IIIf with my Summitar. Just a thought, will it work when adapted for my micro 4/3 camera, i'll try that too.

I don't think 30 quid is too much for one. I think I paid something similar.
So, where are all those other NOOKY pictures people have been taking over the last week?
