A bit overpriced?

For those who don't want to follow the link, he's selling a Carl Ziess Biogon T* 21/2.8 ZM M-mount lens.

He said he bought the lens for about $1,000. He's selling it for $5,700.

I asked the seller about this, and he said he's trying to make some money. Oh well, if he can get someone to pay that kind of money, that's his business, I suppose.

Isn't this lens still available new? For much less than he's asking for used?

I wonder if he just typed in the values wrong. He mentions they can be bought new for $1,000. Maybe he meant to list an opening bid of $700 and a BIN of $875.

My prediction is that he's going to be out $15 in Ebay listing fees.

It just seems like the basic intelligence required to post something on eBay would have given this guy enough smarts to figure out that he's wasting his time.
I mean, he's tell people in the listing that they could buy this lens new for 1/5 his asking price.

I sent him a message asking if he'd made a mistake. Have not heard back.

What is amazing to me is that for a buy-it-now price of $5,875, he has the audacity to want to charge an additional $15 for shipping
