... Bradford gets a well deserved drubbing by the press, politicians and the sarff of england, we had a bright day today, if perishingly cold, so I drove over and took a few gritty urban landscapes ...

... the city from Scarlet Heights (named after a skirmish following the Battle of Wakefield 1460)

... a Victorian Villa (c. 1880) in the same location ... the mill-owners built out in the hills to escape the poor air in the city

... Halifax from Fox Hill, Queensbury

... Ogden Moor from Mountain, the highest point in Bradford and West Yorkshire for that matter

... I love the view east from Thornton Old Rd out past Leeds to the vale of York ... on Frosty mornings steam from the string of power stations can be seen right out the Ferrybridge
